I want to become an accountant, however do not have the time to go back to uni, any ideas?
Does any body have any ideas on a good online course? I am living abroad so Open Uni is out of the window as I have to attend occasional lessons on their courses. I have been looking at certain online/long distance learning courses but they are sooooo vague. And I want a recognised qualification, any suggestions?!!! thanks!!!

Becoming a Chartered Accountant is hard work and requires a few years total dedication. If you have not got the time, don't waste your time. Failed accountants are paid peanuts because there are lots of them. The thing to remember is that the failures have often spent as much time studying as the successes. As you are living abroad, I suggest that you contact the local big accountancy firms for advice. They may even sponsor you.

At least two professional bodies have trainers all over the world. Students study part-time and gain internationally recognised professional qualifications. Those that have most success attend evening classes before taking exams. Any correspondence course that is not linked to one of the professional bodies should be avoided. It is likely that the qualification will be worth very little, and so not help you get a decent job.
